July of the summer before.

A lot has happened since my last post here. To start off, I got accepted to my host university in Japan. I will be in Japan for eleven months. My Certificate of Eligibility comes in tomorrow and I apply for my Visa this month. All of my paperwork is done and I fly out at the start of September. Currently I am working a summer job to help pay for things but this year is proving to be cheaper than previous college years. I am a mix of excited and terrified. As I spend a year at Toyo University I hope to continue updating things here and sharing my adventures on how things go.
I will not be the only one going to my university though! Two of my college class mates will be going with me. One of them and I have become rather good friends in talking about all this and planning things that we will do while in Tokyo. However, the third is stand offish. She is very nice over all but I do not believe her to care really about others and I do not know how to interact with people like that. Time will tell if she will be joining the other and I on our adventures and our night life in Tokyo (which we will be having because we come from the middle of FUCKING NO WHERE so we want to be able to have that dream) or not. Small details left to prepare before I leave. I am having a going away party as many have expressed an interest in seeing me before not seeing me for almost an entire year, two for some as I will not be returning to my home town till after I graduate from college officially. This is chalking up to be a pretty big adventure.
It is also starting to hit me exactly how much of a size difference there is between the towns I've been to and TOKYO. I'm going from a place where there are only a million people in the entire state, Montana, to a place where there are 7 million people in ONE city, Tokyo. That is HUGE. I will see more people in eleven months than I have in my entire life. This is a huge transition and I can't help but wonder if I won't crack under the pressure. Those who read this blog if you have any advice or idea's for how to cope or places to go while I'm there, please feel free to comment and discuss.
-till Later-
